Hats off to Maison Michel
The grandiose Maison Michel was founded in 1936 by Auguste Michel. For almost 80 years, it has been creating prestigious hats for men and women. In 1996, Chanel, a House with an interest in artistic crafts, acquired Maison Michel.
Thanks to some very old machines from the past and the virtuosity of the hat-makers, milliners and seamstresses, Maison Michelle has attracted the interest of the biggest designers and design studios. Pierre Cardin, Kenzo, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Lanvin are just some of the luxury brands that have called upon the ingenuity of Maison Michel. Wide-brimmed hats, berets, straw hats, boaters and many other shapes adorn the heads of large numbers of celebrities. Since 2006, the artistic director Laetitia Crahay improvises with and romanticises ultra-feminine creations. Open to the needs of her clientele, she offers made-to-measure creations and is committed to transforming the most unexpected wishes into poetic and fairytale hats.
