Tahmina Rafaella: Contributor for Blesque
I would like to introduce to you, our new contributor Tahmina Rafaella, who will be covering subjects of books and films. She is someone I find very inspiring and interesting as a person, and that is why I trust her sophisticated judgement.
Tahmina Rafaella is an Azerbaijani actress, writer and producer. Her first feature film, Inner City, which she wrote and starred in was produced by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan. It premiered and won awards at multiple film festivals around the world including the Best Actress award at Lake Van International Film Festival in Turkey and a Best Actress nomination at WorldFest Houston. Her script “Nadin’s Melody”, which she co-wrote, was recently shortlisted at Sundance’s Screenwriters Lab 2018.
In addition to helping produce Inner City alongside the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan, Tahmina started her production company Rafa Film which aims to cultivate a strong connection between the Azerbaijani and American film industry. The films produced by Rafa Film aim to support the untold stories of the Azerbaijani women as well as reveal the beauty of the sacred traditions and cultures of Azerbaijan. She also contributes her time as a mentor at WriteGirl, a non-profit creative writing and mentoring organization that promotes creativity, critical thinking and leadership skills to empower teen girls.
I hope you will suggest and let us know what you are looking forward to reading about. Please leave your comments below or send us an e-mail.
